Nigerian singer Yemi Alade has unveiled her seventh studio album, “It’s Yemi Alade”, marking another significant achievement in her music career.
This 16-track album, her 10th overall, follows her 2024 release, “Rebel Queen”, and features collaborations with artists such as Congolese singer Ferré Gola, music producer Don Jazzy, Singuila, and rapper Jeriq.
Known as Mama Africa, Yemi Alade announced the album’s release on social media, describing it as a personal gift to her dedicated fans and the start of a new chapter in her career. The album delves into various African sounds and languages, with the guitar being a recurring feature throughout its diverse musical journey.
One notable collaboration is “Coco na Yam”, where Alade teams up with Ferré Gola on a track inspired by Congolese rumba. She also partners with Don Jazzy on “Ala Bekee” and brings Singuila into the mix on “Paradise”. In “Overtake”, Yemi collaborates with indigenous rapper Jeriq, incorporating traditional Igbo musical elements.
With “It’s Yemi Alade”, she continues to explore continental sounds while maintaining her distinct Afropop style. This new addition to Alade’s extensive catalog further solidifies her position as one of Nigeria’s most recognizable female artists on both the African and international music stages.
